Base Criteria:

  • International Swimmers from 2019 Onwards (Including ISL Seasons 1 & 2).
  • GB Senior & Junior National Swimmers (from both Summer LC & Winter SC Championships)
  • British Olympic Trials 2020 & Selection Trial Qualifiers 2021.
  • Must have over 659 FINA Points in at least one LC Event from Best Times since July 2019.
  • 100% Commitment to the Training Programme as set by the HPC.
  • Commitment to Team Events (Arena League, Regional/National Relays).
  • Attend a minimum of 8-9 pool sessions per week.

Elite Sprint

Males: 19+ Years | Females: 19+ Years

Swimmers targeting International Competitions, ISL, British Selection Trials and the British Summer & Winter Championships

Base Criteria:

  • Senior International Swimmers from 2019 Onwards (Including ISL Seasons 1 & 2).
  • Senior National Swimms (from both Summer LC & Winter SC Championships).
  • British Olympic Trials 2020 and Selection Trial Qualifiers 2021.
  • Must have over 641 FINA Points in at least one LC Event from Best Times since July 2019.
  • 100% Commitment to the Training Programme as set by the HPC.
  • Commitment to Team Events (Arena League, Regional/National Relays).
  • Attend a minimum of 7 pool sessions per week.

Senior Performance

Swimmers targeting National & South East Regional Youth Championships (SC & LC). Level 1 & 2 Open Meets, as set in the annual competition calendar.

Base Criteria:

  • National and Summer Meet Qualifiers from 2019 Onwards.
  • South East Regional Qualifier from 2019 Onwards.
  • Over 547 FINA Points in their main event.
  • 100% Commitment to the Training Programme as set by the HPC.
  • Commitment to Team Events (Arena League, County/Regional Relays).
  • Attend a minimum of 7 pool sessions per week.

Intermediate Performance

Males: 14-17 Years | Females: 13-16 Years

Swimmers targeting National Summer Meets, South East Youth & Age Group Championships (SC & LC). Level 1 & 2 Open Meets, as set in the annual competition calendar.

Base Criteria:

  • Regional Medalists from 2019 Onwards.
  • Regional Finalists from 2019 Onwards.
  • At least 3 South East Regional Automatic Qualifying Times from 2019 Onwards (In-House Racing and Level X times are not permitted).
  • 100% Commitment to the Training Programme as set by the HPC.
  • Commitment to Team Events (Arena League, County/Regional Relays).
  • Attend a minimum of 7 pool sessions and all land training sessions per week.

Junior Performance

Lead Coach – Sarah Standen

Swimmers targeting County Finals and South East Age Group Championships, with high commitment to the programme. Racing at Open Meets as set in the annual competition calendar.

Base Criteria:

  • Four (Consideration) County Qualifying Times at the most recent County Championships (excluding 50s and 100 IM).
  • Two (Consideration) South East Regional Qualifying Times at the most recent South East Regional Championships (excluding 50s and 100 IM).
  • 100% Commitment to the Training Programme as set by the Lead Coach.
  • Commitment to Team Events (Arena League, County/Regional Relays).
  • Attend a minimum of 5 pool sesisons and 1 land training session per week.

Regional Development

Lead Coach – Oli Purgavie

Males: 14-18 Years | Females: 13-18 Years

Swimmers targeting South East Regional Youth & Age Group Championships (SC & LC). Level 1, 2 & 3 Open Meets, as set in the annual competition calendar.

Base Criteria:

  • Minimum of 1 South Eadt Regional Qualifying Time and/or a Minimum of 500 FINA Points in a single event since September 2019.
  • Consideration: Minimum of 400 FINA Points in at least 1 event and within 5% of multiple South East Regional QTs and able to maintain training standards similar to that of Intermediate Performance.
  • 100% Commitment to the Training Programme as set by the Lead Coach.
  • Commitment to Team Events (Arena League, County/Regional Relays).
  • Attend a minimum of 6 pool sessions and 1 land training session per week.

County Development

Lead Coach – Henry Tighe

Males: 13-16 Years | Females: 13-16 Years

Swimmers targeting to progress through the County and make County Finals with the aim of achieving Regional QTs. Competing in Level 3 Open Meets, as set in the annual competition calendar.

Base Criteria:

  • Minimum of 3 Qualifying Times since September 2019.
  • Consideration: Minimum of 3 County Qualifying Times since September 2019.
  • Consideration: Minimum of 300 FINA Points and achieved/within 5% of 5 County Qualifying Times.
  • 100% Commitment to the Training Programme as set by the Lead Coach.
  • Commitment to Team Events (County Relays, Club Championships & Galas).
  • Attend a minimum of 5 pool sessions and 1 land training session per week.

Junior Development

Boys: 10-12 Years | Girls: 10-12 Years

Swimmers targeting Hampshire County Championships and aim to reach the highest level of competition based on ability and attendance.

Base Criteria:

  • 3 County Consideration Qualifying Times.
  • Updated race times (every 6 months) in 50s, 100s, 200 Frs & 200 IM.
  • 100% Commitment to the Training Programme as set by the Lead Coach.
  • Commitment to Team Events (County Relays, Club Championships & Galas).
  • Attend a minimum of 4 sessions per week.

Platinum Penguins

Lead Coach – Hannah Osborne

Boys: 13-16 Years | Girls: 13-16 Years

Swimmers targeting County and Level 3 Competitions. Aim to reach the highest level of compeition based on ability and attendance.

Base Criteria:

  • 3 County (Consideration) Qualifying times.
  • Updated race times (every 6 months) in 50s, 100s, 200 Frs & 200 IM.
  • 100% Commitment to the Training Programme as set by the Lead Coach.
  • Commitment to Team Events (County Relays, Club Championships & Galas).
  • Attend a minimum of 4 sessions per week.

Gold Penguins

Boys: 10-12 Years | Girls: 10-12 Years

To compete Hampshire Counties, in Club nights, galas and the Grand Prix Series. Improve and maintain stroke technique and develop training and race skills. Development of a more professional approach to training, competition and lifestyle.

Base Criteria:

  • 2 County Consideration Times.
  • Proven ability and commitment to following a competitive training programme (both swimmers and parents with support).
  • 100% Commitment to Team Events (Galas, Club Championships).
  • Attend a minimum of 3 sessions per week.

Silver Penguins

Lead Coach – Thelma Hawkings

Boys: 9-11 Years | Girls: 9-11 Years

To improve and maintain stroke technique over distance and develop basic training and race skills. Competing in Club Nights, Galas and the Grand Prix Series. Swimmers should show a positive attidtude and want to progress to Gold Penguins.

Base Criteria:

  • Love Swimming and are keep to progress!
  • Have efficient strokes on Frontcrawl, Backstroke and Breaststroke (No Screw Kick).
  • Have good basic Butterly stroke with arms clearing the water on recovery.
  • Completed Stage 7/8 in the National Teaching Plan.
  • Confident swimming 200m in a 25m Pool.
  • Able to: Swim 50 Frontcrawl in under 50s | Swim 50 Breaststroke in under 65s | Kick 50 Frontcrawl in under 70s | Tumble Turn.
  • Attend a minimum of 2 sessions per week.

Bronze Penguins

Boys: 7-9 Years | Girls: 7-9 Years

To improve and maintain stroke technique over distance and develop basic training and race skills. Swimmers are encouraged to swim in Club Nights, novice galas and Grand Prix Series with swimming being a fun activity.

Base Criteria:

  • Love Swimming and are keep to progress!
  • Have efficient strokes on Frontcrawl, Backstroke and Breaststroke (No Screw Kick).
  • Have good basic Butterly stroke with arms clearing the water on recovery.
  • Completed Stage 7/8 in the National Teaching Plan.

To improve and maintain stroke technique over distance and develop/maintain training and race skills. It is not a requirement to compete, however, Masters will have the opportunity to compete at Counties, Regionals, Club Nights, Galas, Open Water events and triathlons.

  • Training abilities matching those of existing members.
  • A positive mindset.
  • Ability to listen and learn during training sessions.
