As a charity, Winchester City Swimming Club has a clear vision for aquatics provision across the City and local area, so in addition to our busy schedule of lessons, training and competition, we run a number of additional programmes for the community.

Winchester Primary Schools Swimming Gala 2025

Our 23rd Schools gala will be held at Winchester Sport and Leisure Park on the morning of Friday 6th June 2025.  The closing date for entries will be Friday 25th April.  Please use our contact form and select primary schools gala to register. Currently, the following schools have registered:

Over the past twenty years Winchester City Swimming Club has hosted an annual Swimming Gala for approximately 300 children from primary schools in the Winchester area.

This very successful event allows many young children to experience the excitement of participating in a swimming competition, gives them a great sense of personal achievement and realisation of the benefits of sport and activity.

Support from local businesses and organisations makes this possible. In addition to covering core event costs, grants and sponsorship mean all children can be given a T- shirt, goody bag and certificate. There are also trophies, medals and rosettes for the top six competitors in each event.

As well as the teams from the schools, their parents and teachers, our invited guests will include the Mayor of Winchester, Sponsors and representatives from the local press
