Winchester Primary Schools Gala – HELP NEEDED

This year on the morning of Friday June 9th we are holding our biggest event of the year with about 300 children from over 25 Winchester & district Primary Schools attending. This is a fun packed morning with all swimmers not only enjoying the gala but also receiving a T shirt and goody bag each.

However to run this event we need to raise nearly £3,000. To do this we need YOUR help please.

The attached letter gives an idea of the many ways that employers, businesses or individuals could support this event. Please would you look at it and consider whether this is something you could join in with, maybe print it and take it to your employer or local businesses. Maybe you feel you could give a little time to help co-ordinate the fund raising? Maybe you would like to give an individual donation?

Every little help is very much appreciated.

Please contact Thelma at thelmah@wcpsc.org.uk with every offer of help both with fundraising or to help on the day.

Thank you!

Grand Prix Round 4

Details have been sent out to all eligible swimmers by email from Thelma. Please get your entries in promptly!

GP4 is slightly different from the first 3 rounds as there are four events included in this gala, rather than the three in previous rounds.

HOWEVER it is not recommended that swimmers should enter all four.

The 200IM is a hard event. It should only be considered by those who comfortably completed the 50 fly in the previous round without disqualification (for those new to the sport the 200IM means that the swimmers have to complete 50 fly, 50 back, 50 breast & 50 free with all 7 correct turns – yes every turn is different on this event!).

The 100 fly should only be considered by the strongest of fly swimmers.

Do get advice from your coach.

No more than 3 events for any swimmer unless agreed with their coach.

EVERY swimmer should at least enter the 50 free and 100 backstroke.

For those that print from iphones and photograph the form to return, there has been loss of information previously. Thelma therefore also attached a PDF version of the entry form to the email in the hope that this will help.

Please note: other swimmers can enter on a time trial basis to update their official times if agreed with their coach.
