Hi all, and hope everyone is enjoying, or at least surviving, the Easter holidays.
It’s quite nice to be reporting on a relatively uneventful week – maybe my first since arriving at the start of September last year. I’m told our Easter lessons programme is going very well. Great credit should go to Connie our Lessons Manager for the very good promotional work she has done recently. There were also successful meets at the weekend in Bournemouth and Bristol. Thanks to the coaches that covered those meets and all the other coaches that kept the programme running back at home.
We continue to provide feedback to the Council on the new leisure facility, trying to ensure it has the appropriate specification and that access is affordable and appropriate for our intended usage. This time we were able to provide some ‘lessons learnt’ from the new Eastleigh centre, provided by some of our members.
We’ve also had a positive wash-up meeting this week, reviewing the relative successes of the presentation evening back in January and the recent Inclusive Gala. Thanks again to Liz, Thelma and Clara for their hard volunteer work in putting those events together.
As another window into our world, we’ve been doing a little more work on General Data Protection Regulation this week, this time focussing on employees. Imminent legal changes have significant implications for how we run the charity, including the need to revise 70ish staff contracts to be compliant with the new data laws.
This is the last week for applications to our Head Coach role, which closes on Friday. I have been working up a short-listing and interviewing process, that will probably include formal, informal and practical elements. Please, please continue to share the opportunity with your contacts to ensure we have the best possible candidates come forward.

Calling all members!
Do you know anyone who would like to promote a business or contribute by adding to the children’s goody bags at the forthcoming WCPSC Annual Primary Schools Gala? Pencils/pens, notebooks, toys, stickers, even nut free snacks etc. – anything children like in a goody bag.
We have around 300 children competing, but any number of child friendly additions would be welcome, as they don’t all have to receive an identical bag. Please contact email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org and we can arrange collection.
Remember to contact Thelma at email@example.com if you can help on the morning of the 8th June, or if you know of anyone who would be interested in sponsoring the event.
