How do I join?

Would you like to give swimming a try? Or are you already a swimmer and looking for a friendly, experienced and enjoyable club to learn and train with? Look no further!

No matter what your age or ability, our fully qualified team of teachers and coaches can provide exciting and challenging lessons and sessions in order for you to reach your personal goal. Our current age range is from 3 years old up to 76 years of age.

What is the process for joining one of the competitive squads?

To join one of our entry level competitive squads your child will need to attend an assessment session where we assess their swimming ability. It also gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about joining a squad. Trials are organised by our Head of Performance Kim Hill.

To arrange an assessment please email Kim Hill at kimh@wcpsc.org.uk giving details of your child’s name, date of birth and swimming experience to date.

The assessment will determine which of the training squads your child will be offered to join. Depending on the availability of places in the squads there may be a awaiting time before you child can actually start.

In addition to reaching the required swimming standard new members must agree to abide by all club rules (Codes of conduct). They must also make the commitment to be available when selected to represent the club.

For details of the standards required to enter our Development Squads please click here.

If your child is not quite up to this standard we do offer swimming lessons, click here for more information.

If you are already a club swimmer and wish to join WCPSC please still email Kim at kimh@wcpsc.org.uk. We will get back in contact with you to organise either an assessment or to invite you to try a taster session with one of our squads.

How long is the waiting list?

The waiting list will vary depending on the time of year and the number of swimmers already in the squad that your child is waiting for. You will only know which squad your child should go into after the assessment.

What Happens After I Am Offered a Place?

You will be asked to complete and return a Membership Application Form, Medical Questionnaire and Photo Consent Form and agree to a join the club for a probationary period of up to three months.
